POLICE INVESTIGATE REPORTED KIDNAPPING OF HUMPHREY POLEPOLE

The national police force has opened an investigation following allegations made by Augustino Polepole that his brother, Humphrey Polepole, was kidnapped.

​According to a statement issued today by the Police Communications Officer, an investigation file was opened immediately after these allegations were made on October 6, 2025. The Police stated that they have begun gathering various pieces of information about the incident and are actively seeking Augustino Polepole to obtain his cooperation and detailed explanations regarding his claims.

The Police further stated that they are working to verify the allegations that a police officer was involved in the incident, as claimed on social media. The investigation also aims to determine whether Humphrey Polepole was the owner or a tenant of the house where the reported kidnapping took place.

MATIVILA URGES CONTRACTOR TO DELIVER MOHORO BRIDGE ON SCHEDULE

  The Deputy Secretary General at the President’s Office — Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), in charge of infrastructure, Engineer Rogatus Mativila, has urged MAC Contractors Company Ltd, the contractor responsible for building the 100-metre-long Mohoro Bridge in Rufiji District, Pwani Region, to complete the project, within the stipulated time frame. Speaking during an inspection visit to review progress, Engineer Mativila said that project funding is already in place. He emphasized to the consulting engineer supervising the project that they must ensure the contractor finishes the work on time to resolve the transport and traffic challenges faced by the residents of the Mohoro ward. ​"You requested additional funding due to an increase in the scope of work.
