GOLD REACHES RECORD US $4.3 BILLION ON THE GLOBAL MARKET

Tanzania’s gold exports have surged to a record $4.3 billion on the global market, according to the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) report for September 2025.

The BoT report indicates that the country's total exports of goods and services rose by 14.8% year-on-year, reaching a total of $16.8944 billion by the end of August 2025.

BoT explained that gold exports rose by 35.5 percent to US $4.322 billion, driven by increasing global gold prices.

Regarding agricultural exports, the report noted that sales increased to US $1.412 billion during the month, a 28.3 percent rise mainly due to exports of cashew nuts, tobacco, and coffee.

Apart from gold, other top exported products during this period included industrial goods, cashews, tobacco, and cereals.
